Sean's accolades:
Sean grew up in a swimming family in Bay City, MI. He started swimming competitively at age 5 after both of his older brothers swam on the team and he was dragged into the mix. After finishing high school, Sean went on to swim at the University of Kentucky for two years before transferring to Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. At Wayne State, Sean earned two Division II NCAA national championships and two national records in the 200 Backstroke and 400 Medley Relay. That year, Wayne State also finished second as a team at the Division II NCAA national championships.
Fun fact: Sean's two brothers swam in college at Oakland University and Southern Methodist University. One of his sisters-in-law swam at Olympic Trials and finished 7th, while another was a Big Ten Rowing Champion.

Laiza's Story:
Laiza Smith is a Yuma native. She graduated from Cibola High School and the University of Arizona. She went on to study dentistry at Universidad Rosaritense in Mexico. Laiza is a cosmetic dentist during the day and a mom to two wonderful children. She loves teaching kids how to swim and creating a safer community. She is fluent in Spanish and loves coaching in both languages.
