Swim Team INFO for parents

The Yuma Krakens offer training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Yuma Krakens Swim Team to offer age-specific training for all of our athletes geared toward challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Krakens 2025 Team Rates & Schedule

Group Schedule Fee
Beginner W/F 4:30-5:30pm $80.00 per month
Lil Krakens M/T/Th 4:30-5:30pm $80.00 per month
Junior M-F 4:00-5:30pm $90.00 per month
Senior M-F 3:30-6:00pm, Saturdays 9-11am $100.00 per month
Private Lessons Scheduled when time is available $50.00 for 30 min.

Note:

  • Parents Pay Meet Entry Fees
  • A $50 per swimmer Travel Fee is assessed to every out of town meet that requires a coach.
  • Swimmers can attend swim meets outside of out schedule
  • $86.00/Year USA Swimming Registration if you choose to compete in USA Swimming meets (this is optional)

Practice Groups

Beginner

$80.00 per month, 2 practices per month

Includes swimmers who can complete a length of freestyle who are age 5 and above. The group works primarily on cleaning up major stroke problems on freestyle and backstroke, kicking, starts and turns. The Beginner Group is offered 2 practices per week.


Required Equipment:
 Fins, Water Bottle, Mesh Bag, Jr. Kick Board

Novice

$90.00 per month, 3 practices a week

Includes swimmers who are legal in all four competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle). The group works primarily on building solid stroke mechanics, kicking, starts, turns, and familiarizing swimmers with the rules of year-round competitive swimming. The Super Squad Blue Group is offered 5 practices per week.


Required Equipment: Fins, Water Bottle, Mesh Bag, Jr. Kick Board

Junior Group

$90 per month, 3 practices a week

The main focus of the 9-10 group is to develop solid stroke mechanics, kicking/underwater skills, and formulate solid practice habits and a basic understanding of race strategy. The 9-10 group is offered 6 practices per week.

Required Equipment: Short Blade Fins, Water Bottle, Mesh Bag, Jr. Kick Board, Paddles, Snorkel, Jr. Pull Buoy

Senior Group

$100.00 per month, 5-6 practices per week


The Senior Group is the first step into senior-level swimming for most 13-older Kraken swimmers. This group offers the opportunity for swimmers to continue to develop solid stroke mechanics, gain an appreciation for consistent training, be part of a positive team environment, and have swimming function within their daily life. There is no minimum attendance requirement for this group.
